Custom WordPress Websites Built to Convert
Your website is doing one of two things right now: making the right client feel like they have found exactly what they were looking for, or quietly asking them to keep looking. We build custom WordPress sites for businesses whose reputation depends on how they present, and we build them to be found, to load fast, and to be genuinely easy to run once we hand them over.
What a SizzlePop website includes
Every build starts from scratch. No purchased theme dressed up to look bespoke, and no page-builder template with your logo dropped into it.
- A design made for your business, not adapted from someone else’s
- Copywriting and messaging structure, not placeholder text you have to fill in later
- Mobile-first layouts, because most of your visitors arrive on a phone
- Clean heading structure, metadata and schema so search engines can actually read the site
- Compressed, modern image formats so pages load in seconds rather than tens of seconds
- Inquiry forms that route where they should and reliably reach your inbox
- A short handover session so you can update your own content without calling us
Built on WordPress, and it stays yours
WordPress runs a large share of the web for a reason. It is flexible, well supported, and it does not hold your business hostage.
When the project ends you own the site outright: the files, the domain, the hosting account and the content. There is no proprietary platform you have to keep paying to stay online, and no situation where changing agencies means starting over. If you ever hand the site to another developer, they will find a standard WordPress install they can work with on day one.
That matters more than it sounds. A website is an asset. It should sit on your balance sheet, not on somebody else’s platform.
Designed around how people actually decide
People do not read websites. They scan them, form an impression in a few seconds, and then look for a reason to trust you.
So we structure every page around exactly that: a clear statement of what you do and who you do it for, visible proof close behind it, and one obvious next step. Navigation stays short. Copy stays specific. Photography does real work instead of filling space.
The result is a site that feels calm and confident, and that quietly moves the right people toward getting in touch.
How the work runs
Four stages, in this order.
1. Positioning. What you do, who it is for, and why someone should choose you over the alternative.
2. Art direction. Typography, colour, imagery and tone, all agreed before a single page is designed.
3. Build. The site itself, developed in WordPress and reviewed with you as it comes together.
4. Everything around it. Search setup, Google Business Profile, analytics, and the handover so you can run it yourself.
Most website projects run four to eight weeks depending on scope and how quickly content comes together. Every project is quoted as a fixed scope and a fixed price before we start.
Who we build for
Most of our work is with hospitality brands, event companies and service businesses — the kind of business where the first impression happens online but the actual experience happens in person. The gap between those two things is where a lot of good businesses quietly lose work.
If you run a restaurant or a hospitality property, see hospitality web design. If you work in events, see web design for event planners and venues. If you already have a site and it is no longer doing its job, see website redesign.

Common questions
What does a website cost?
Every project is quoted as a fixed scope and a fixed price before any work begins, so there are no hourly surprises and no scope creep halfway through. What moves the number is how many pages you need, whether copywriting and photography are included, and whether brand work runs alongside the build. Tell us roughly what you have in mind and you will get a scoped figure, not a range.
How long does it take?
Most website projects run four to eight weeks from kick-off to launch. The variable is almost never the design work — it is content. Projects where photography and copy are ready move fast; projects waiting on either can stretch. We will tell you at the start which one you are.
Do I have to write the copy myself?
No. Copywriting and messaging structure are part of the build, not an add-on you have to arrange separately. You will be asked plenty of questions about your business and your clients, but you will not be handed an empty template to fill in.
Will I be able to update the site myself afterwards?
Yes, and this is deliberate. The site is built so the things that change often are the things that are easiest to edit, and every project ends with a handover session with whoever will actually be doing the updating. We keep it simple enough that it still makes sense months later.
Who owns the website when it is finished?
You do, outright. The files, the domain, the hosting account and the content. There is no proprietary platform to keep paying for and no situation where changing agencies means starting over.
Do you work with businesses outside Maryland and DC?
Yes. Most projects run remotely and the client can be anywhere. Video calls, shared documents and a clear process handle the rest.
